- (ar lean ón leathanach roimhe)in the wall, and blankets and a pillow inside in it this is what they used as beds. Also beds were made of wood and covered the same as the roof of the houses, these beds were called camp beds. Another kind of bed was also used. This bed was called a settle bed. They used no coal, only turk. No lamps were used and they used their own home made candles, made from the tallow of the goat, and the sheep. They had a mould for making these candles this was a galvanised pipe shaping a narrow neck. They pour the melted tallow into this pipe before doing this they put a wick down into this pipe pulling a small bit and on the top, and let it get hard, then turn the mould upside down, and then the candles were made. These candles were called "pāideóigs[?]". They also made lights out of splinters of bogdeal.
