- There is a well in Ballyseedy wood near Tralee. The people call it Tobairín Well. They say it is true that every Christmas night the water of the well would change into wine at twelve o'clock. So this Christmas Night three men went to the well to get a drink of the wine. They sat down near it. A man came out of the well and said to them, "What do you three men want?" They said to him, "We want to drink the wine out of the well at twelve o'clock. He said to them "Taste ye no wine for if ye will, ye will suffer for it." The men laughed and the man disappeared. At twelve o'clock the water of the well changed into wine. They went on their knees to drink it and the three men fell in and were drowned. When they were drowning the man appeared to them and said to them, "I told ye taste no wine" and then disappeared. The men were never heard of after.
