- a gun made from a bore tree:-
a young branch of a tree is cut. It
must be a foot long and about half an inch
thick. The pith is scooped out of it and a
piece about two inches long is cut out of
the middle. To the end of this piece a spring

long is put through the bore pressed against
the spring. Then the spring is released and
it shoots the stick through the bore. - a cradle bird is used for catching birds and it
is generally set up during snow. the best birds
to catch are the thrushes and finches because they
are the best singers. Four long sally rods are got
and doubled at the eight ends and are tied
together at the top. Four other rods about a foot
and a half in length are got and tied to the free
