Ar an leathanach seo

In olden times great rivalry existed between Ulster and Connaught. Each wanted to be more powerful than the other.
In the first or second century Maeve's army was at war with King Conor's.
This state of things lasted down through the centuries.
In the 10th century one of the greatest battles fought between to rival provinces took place in Connaught.
This was the Battle of Ceis Corainn fought in 971.
A great number of the bravest and most powerful chieftains were slain at the battle.
We are told for certain that six princes were killed.
Five of the princes were Ulster nobles and one was Tadhg son of Cathal King of Connaught.
