- (ar lean ón leathanach roimhe)bride is leaving the house it is a custom in this district to throw an old shoe after her for good luck, and try to strike the bride on the heels. Only a man can do this, as it is considered unlucky for a woman to throw the shoes. The people always have a wedding-feast on that day in the brides house. In the evening all the people that are present at the wedding go for a drive through the country on sidecars, the married cuple are always on the first sidecar and the car is decorated with flowers and a flag flying from it.
It was an old custom on that day for straw boys to visit the house where the wedding was held, to dress in straw so that nobody would know them. They also appoint a captain, they rush forwards to(leanann ar an chéad leathanach eile)- Faisnéiseoir
