Ar an leathanach seo
- (ar lean ón leathanach roimhe)the people's wealth. If they had no money to give they were forced to give some crop such as potatoes instead. These agents were also tyrants and were looked upon as being more cruel than the landlords.
If the people did not pay the rent or if they committed any trivial offence that displeased the landlord after paying the rent the agent came and locked the door and left the people and their belongings on the street to go where and when they liked. The house and farm would then be given to someone else. If that person displeased the landlord they could also be evicted without notice.
