Pat decided to go to him for an advice. When he had told his story to Jimmy, the other promised to get a plan for him as he was a neighbour.

To hang him outside on the wall that night, next morning he was to get up early cut the pig and salt him, he was then to go around crying and telling everyone that someone stole his pig.
Pat decided to do what he was told. He killed the pig and hung it outside on the wall and went to bed. At about two o'clock Jimmy the "trick" got up and went down to where the pig was hung up and stole it.
