- Long ago the people did not use tea because it was unpurchasable. One day a woman was expecting a very important person and she bought a pound of tea for the purpose. She put the whole pound in a pot to boil. When it was boiling she took it off and threw the water on the street. Then she put the tea-leaves on a plate and put them before the visitor. The visitor said, "I would drink the water in which these boiled if I had it".
