  1. James Snee of Carton lifted the half-cwt on his little finger up his own height six feet He could write his name on a wall with the same hand.
    Patrick Conlon of Cumming was noted for cutting oats. He cut one acre in a day and it took three or four to lift after him.
    Thomas Byrne of Aulth was able to carry twenty seven slook of oats in a rope on his back.
    John Joe Keaney of St James Well was able to carry nine or ten stone creel of potatoes by catching the hanger of the creel in his teeth He would carry it a hundred and fifty onwards and hundred and fifty backwards.
