- Once a woman named Annie Sweeney of Lavally, Ballintogher was churning, and a man came into the when she was churning. He did not take the dash and when he was going he lit a cigarette. The woman was still churning and no butter came on the churn.
Another man came in and asked her was she long churning. She told him that she was churning for four hours and that no butter had come on the churn yet. He asked her did anyone come in since she began churning and she told him that there did.
The man told her that if he brought anything or lit a cigarette that he would take the butter off the churn; and she knew he lit a cigarette.
She went to the man and asked him where did he quench the cigarette. He told her the place and she went there and got the butter round the ashes of the cigarette.
