- There was once a man named Andrew Kelly who lived in Co Leitrim. A neighbour asked him to stand sponsor for a child. He did not know what to do because he never stood sponsor before.
When they were going to Ballinagar church to perform the ceremony Andrew asked the other sponsor what he should say.
The girl who was fond of a joke told him to say whatever the priest would say.
Soon after interring the church the priest turned to Andrew and said: -
"Where is the father of the child" Carrying the girl's instructions Andrew replied
"Where is the father of the child"
"What kind of fool is that you have with you" said the priest
"What kind of fool is that you have with you" said Andrew.
"Put him out" said the priest
"Put him out repeated Andrew"
The priest hunted him out and brought(leanann ar an chéad leathanach eile)
