- Once a king lived in Carrick Coola Castle and at the same time another king lived in Ballymote.
The king in Ballymote sent down his servants to the king in Coola for cattle and pigs and when they were leaving the king said "If he does not".
When they came to Carrick castle they delivered their message.
The king in Coola said he had neither cattle nor pigs and, "If I had - ".
The king in Ballymote on hearing this declared war against the Coola king. Both kings set out with their armies and met on a hill near Coola where the battle took place. Ever since that place is called Cnoc na Deor.
