- In my district potatoes are grown extensively, in fact they are the main crop of the smaller-class farmer. My father sows about an acre and a half every year. The names of the different kinds he sows are as follows :- Epicures, Irish Queens, British Queens, Kerr's Pink, Northern Champions, Arran Banners, American Roses, Jenny Deans, and Duke of Yorks.
Long ago the people used to use
wooden-ploughs. They were shaped like an ordinary plough only the wooden one had two "loys" and a wooden handle. The farmers who couldn't afford to buy a plough used a spade. The following is a(leanann ar an chéad leathanach eile)
