“Moraca Mór and Morca Beag were cousins and lived in the one house.”
(ar lean ón leathanach roimhe)a better breakfast the next morning and not to attempt to eat the blackberries. He rose the next morning and Moraca Mór gave him lots of bread and two blue duck eggs and three cups of tea and started off with the skillet under his arm promising not to eat the blackberries.
When he was coming home there came a shower and he sat under a bush for shelter and he made up his mind to eat one of the berries and they were so sweet he never quit until he ate the last one.
Moraca Mór became so angry and told him that if he would eat them the next day that he would redden a stick in the fire and punch the eyes out of him and leave him beyond in the old church.
