- (ar lean ón leathanach roimhe)young soldier came up to him and asked him if he would make a sword for him Gobniu said he had to watch his cow. The soldier said he would watch her.
The smith started to make the sword and the soldier watched the cow and brought her back to the forge at night. There was a man standing at the door and he told the soldier that Gobniu had his sword made only to harden it and he cannot do that until you hold the hilt for him. The soldier left the cow and ran in. Gobniu asked him where was the cow. He said she was outside. Gobniu ran out and the cow was not there. The soldier ran out too and found that the cow of Plenty was gone.
