    And now terrible things happened
The wild wind rang from park and plain
    And round the attics rumbled,
Till all the tablels danced again,
    And half the chimney tumbled.
The windows were blown in. The wind blew out the fire and then circled round the pantry. All the food was carried off by the gate. The old woman was whirled about. The servants fled from the place. Everything was blown away or destroyed and in a few moments the wretched dame found herself as poor as she had been before the goose was presented to her.
There are many people like her - people who are better off than they deserve to be, and yet are always ready to find some silly excuse for grumbling.
