- About three years ago there was a heavy snowfall. It's depth was about four feet, and the traffic was stopped for about a week. It was in drifts here and there throughout the fields and roads. The birds and animals had no food because the trees and fields were all covered with snow. The farmers found the sheep hard to count and they had to act ivy and scatter it along the fields for them to eat.Schools were closed and the children were very glad. Each night it freezed and that left the now longer to thaw.
