    St Bridgid's Day. Crosses are made out of rushes and straw and stuck in the rafters, and sometimes the age of the house can be told by the crosses if one is stuck up every year.
    Shrove Tuesday - On that night some of the boys of the district dress up and bring boot blacking with. They go knocking at the doors
