  1. 1. Cure for mumps. A person whose mother and father were of the same name. The ailing person goes with him to the three nearing water led by the donkey's winkers. The person with the mumps take a drink of each water.
    2. Wildfire on lip. Rub your mothers' gold wedding ring on it.
    To cure a cough. Boil garlic with milk and drink it hot.
    To cure measles. Go to a woman who did not change her name when she got married. She is supposed to have the cure.
    To cure toothache. Chew tobacco and the pain will go away.
    To cure a wart. Rub a halfpenny across the wart hide it in a puddle in the road. Whoever gets the half-penny will also got the wart
