  1. Dealings and adventures of an old man.
    Once there lived an old man and his wife who were very poor. They owned only an old house and all the money they had was three half-crowns. One day the old man took the horse to a fair to sell him and brought the three half-crowns in his pocket.
    At the fair the old man throw a bundle of hay on the street for the horse to eat: he also threw three handfuls of hay seeds through the hay. Then he threw the three half-crowns into the bundle of hay and stood beside the horse while he was eating
    When the hose was eating the seeds of the hay made him cough.
    A buyer came up and asked the old man what price he wanted for the horse.
    "Oh," said the old man, "I wouldn't sell him for any money. He coughs up money when he is
