There is no cloth woven in this district at present. Cloth was woven in this district until about twenty-five years ago. The last weaver of cloth who lived here was a man named Martin Pugh who lived in the townland of Aughagad near Grange. Another weaver named Pat Flannagan lived in a tatched house beside the Grang bridge. He died about 20 years ago.
In olden times shirts were made in the homes by the housewives in this district and are sometimes made in the homes yet. The cloth which is now used for making shirts is bought on the shops. It is a mixture of cotton and wool. In olden times shirts were made from flax which was grown on nearly every farm in this district long ago, and it was woven into cloth by the local weavers.
Socks and stockings are knit in nearly every house in this district. They(leanann ar an chéad leathanach eile)- Bailitheoir
