  2. My aunt in Dernish Island churns all the milk which her cattle give. She never sends it to the local creamery as we do. She sells the butter and she feeds the young calves with the buttermilk.
    The churn is a tall round wooden vessel, shaped like a barrel, and the milk is churned with a dash which is moved upwards and downwards. This movement churns the milk. She
