    to bring one of his soden's; horses to Cashel and by bribery have it placed under lock & key in O'Harte's stable, so that he might charge O'Harte with theft, the penalty for which then was 'death by hanging'. Early in the morning in company with his yeomen, he paid a visit to the home of the innocent O'Harte found his horse in the stable and thereupon carried off his victim to Sligo where he was bound in irons and lodged in Sligo jail.
    A sham trial followed. O'Harte was convicted and sentenced to death. On the height known as Gallows Hill he was publically hanged and so passed the last of the O'Hartes, lords of Moneygold or North Sligo.
