    the old woman. The maiden saw them coming and she began to sing, but they struck her with the oar and killed her. She was never seen again.

  2. Once upon a time there lived an old woman and she was very foolish. She used to walk to cork selling fish. She used to be boasting of what she could do.
    One Small Xmas Night her husband stayed up to see if the water would change into wine. At about twelve o'clock he began to talk very foolishly. The old woman heard him and she said, "that you may choke". She had not the word out of her mouth when he fell dead on the floor.
    She took him up and put him out in the garder, and the day after the neighbours buried him. A few days after she died herself.
