  1. I know a fort. It is about a half a mile from myhouse. It is in Jack Sweeney's land. It is a very largeg one. There is a big ring of earth all round it and bushes and weeds and grass growing on the mound.
    There is a gap in this mound where you can get in and out. The mound is about five feet high and four feet in breadth. There are large heaps of stones in the middle of the fort. If you ever stand upon this mound you will see three forts away from it. Jack Sweeney dug the heaps of stones and drew them out of the fort.
    One night about a week after, he was in bed. It was twelve o'clock. He heard the rapping at the window and it continued for a few. The next night he heard the
