- The animals we have in our farm at home are cows, horses, goats, pigs, hens, geese and ducks.
The names of the cows are Deargin, Brickey, Cully, Cooby, Robin, Spotty and Daisy. When driving the cows to and from the field we say "Hove Hove."
When calling the calves to their milk we say "Suck, Suck". The cowhouse is built with stone and mortar and roofed with timber and iron. It is always kept very clean, whitewashed inside and outside. The cows are tied in bails round the neck and sometimes when people are milking cows that would kick they tie them by the legs and this is called "spancelling".
Sometimes people put a bottle of Holy Water or a badge of the Sacred Heart in the stall as a mark of luck.
The horse is kept in a house called a stable. It is an iron covered house with a bench for holding(leanann ar an chéad leathanach eile)- Bailitheoir
