- In North Kerry when they wish to praise the strength of a man they say he is as strong as Sheon Burns. Sheon lived in Lixnaw, Co. Kerry, about 80 years ago and several of his descendants are living there to this day and some of them are also living in this parish.
Many a remarkable thing did Sheon do. On one occasion when he was borrowing a plough, a harrow and a roller from a neighbour he walked into the garden where the implements were lying. He threw the plough across his shoulder and the owner strung the harrow from the beam of the plough. Sheon then put his arm round the roller and walked off with the three articles as lightly as is they weighed only a few ounces.
On another occasion he went to the local forge to get his horse shod. The smith put the iron for the shoe into the fire and when it was red he(leanann ar an chéad leathanach eile)- Bailitheoir
