- There are many peculiar beliefs and customs connected with Christmas among the old people of this locality. Here are some of them:-
It was an old custom in this place at Christmas when going to bed to leave a cup of cold tea for Santa Claus to drink. It is an old belief also that if there was not any snow at Christmas there would be a bad Summer. It is customary also on Christmas night to bring in a bundle of straw and each one to pull a wisp. Whoever pulled the long wisp would spend the best Christmas. Then crosses were made out of wisps and hang to the roof.(leanann ar an chéad leathanach eile)Tras-scríofa ag duine dár meitheal tras-scríbhneoirí deonacha.
