    My grandfather has many strange tales about Lough Easkey , which lies to the left of the Dromore road about four miles from our school. Here is one which he told:-
    About twenty years ago, a woman (Briget) Bridget Ruane mother of the present Richard Ruane was standing at the door of her house. She saw Lough Easkey dry. There was no water" but a big green field. She ran in to tell her people. When she came out it was the same lake as ever. One day a man called Sean Bodhar was riding on a horse with his son behind him. As he was passing by the lake he saw two woods in the water. He stood up looking at the woods
