- Enchanted Lough Easkey.
21-9-'38
My grandfather has many strange tales about Lough Easkey , which lies to the left of the Dromore road about four miles from our school. Here is one which he told:-
About twenty years ago, a woman (Briget) Bridget Ruane mother of the present Richard Ruane was standing at the door of her house. She saw Lough Easkey dry. There was no water" but a big green field. She ran in to tell her people. When she came out it was the same lake as ever. One day a man called Sean Bodhar was riding on a horse with his son behind him. As he was passing by the lake he saw two woods in the water. He stood up looking at the woods(leanann ar an chéad leathanach eile)- Bailitheoir
