- Long ago before our school was erected where the shop now stands was the national school. A man called Dominic Gallagher who was nick-named "Toe-Go" was teaching in it. Every day after school he went out shooting hares for pleasure. Brigid Wynne my great great Grandmother of Masshill went into Tubercurry one snowy day. When it was getting dark my Grandfather, Pat Mullarkey went on horse-back to meet her. As he came in front of the school there were lights on in it and great shooting. He thought it was "Toe-Go" that was shooting so he was eager to go up. He jumped(continues on next page)
