- When people are going to bed it is the custom to lock all the presses or the dead would come back.
When people give something to another person for example a bonham, or eggs or a hen, the person who gets it is always supposed to give what is known as "luck penny". Otherwise no luck would follow the gift.
When people meet a big flock of crows, they think it is a sign of death.
A woman who lived in Killahan was noted for piseóga. One day as she was inside alone she made a dose which she said she would give to the next man who would come in. She got it ready and put it over the fire. She never expected any of her own people at the moment. Unluckily however, her own son was the first to come in. He got it and died that night. It is an old custom around this locality to kill a young calf for Easter Sunday morning.(leanann ar an chéad leathanach eile)- Faisnéiseoir
