  1. In nearly every townland in Ireland a treasure is supposed to be hidden.
There is treasure supposed to be buried in the townland of Ballinageragh near Saint Michael's well in Mr. Thomas O'Brien's field. Nobody knows who placed it there or why it was put there. Attempts have been made to dig it up by the people of the locality but all of these attempts failed. It is said that a black bull with chains followed the treasure seekers and they had to run for their lives.
The buried treasure is supposed to consist of gold and silver coins and is supposed to be worth thousands of pounds.
