- My house is situated in the townland of Kiltomey. The word "Kiltomey" means "church of the tombs". There is a graveyard in the west of the townland and in this graveyard are the ruins of an old church. Kiltomey is in the parish of Kilcaragh. This is in the barony of Clanmaurice which is in the county of Kerry. In the townland live eight families and a single man, the approximate number of persons being forty-eight.
The family name most common is Barrett and in the townland of Kiltomey there are two families of that name. There are nine houses in it, five covered with slate, three houses thatched, and one covered with corrugated iron.
