  1. In walshe's place in Tarbert, there was a Holy Well. Several used to pray there every Saturday. There was a tree growing beside it. Everyone that used to pray, used to tie a piece of cloth to this tree. The old district councils tried to carry water into the village. They put men working at the removal of the water from the well. After one day's work the well moved from where it was, to about a hundred yards away.
In Mulvihill's place in Glin, there was a Holy well. It was a very good well for many were cured. On Sunday, they used pay the rounds. A boy who was a cripple went to pay the rounds, and he took a stone out of the well and he died that night.
