Ar an leathanach seo
- In olden times candles were made by hand but nowadays they are all made by machinery. The old people used take the tallow or dripping from the cows after being killed and melt it. They then had an iron frame much the shape of a candle and it empty inside. They used pour in the tallow when melted and draw a thick thread through to act as a wick. When hard enough they used open the frame and take out the candle. It was a slow progress. They used bogdale splints for candles long ago.
