To see the wild geese inland is the sign of frost. When the dust rises off the road it is the sign of rain. To see the midges flying around is the sign of rain. To see the soot falling off the chimney is the sign of rain. There is an old saying "A mackerel sky never remains twenty-four hours dry". To see little waves in the sky is the sign of wind. To see a cat scraping a tree is a sign of bad weather. Yellow frogs are a sign of good weather but brown frogs are a sign of bad weather. When the door is closed to hear the wind whistling in it is the sign of rain.
