  1. When you see beams coming from the sun it is the sign of rain. A red sky shows wind. When the moon is dim it is a sign of rain. If the stars are twinkling it is the sign of rain. The wind from the west brings rain. To see the swallows flying high is the sign of good weather but to see them flying low is the sign of bad weather. To see the seagulls in on the land is the sign of stormy and bad weather. To see the crows on the ground is the sign of bad weather. To see one lone crane is the sign of bad weather. When the cat turns his back to the fire it is the sign of bad weather and to see the dog going out eating grass is the sign of rain too. When the hills look near it is the sign of bad weather. To see the wild geese inland is the sign of frost. When the dust rises off the road it is the sign of rain. To see the midges flying around is the sign of rain. To see the soot falling off the chimney is the sign of rain. There is an old saying "A mackerel sky never remains twenty-four hours dry". To see little waves in the sky is the sign of wind. To see a cat scraping a tree is a sign of bad weather. Yellow frogs are a sign of good weather but brown frogs are a sign of bad weather. When the door is closed to hear the wind whistling in it is the sign of rain.
