- The cloaks worn by the women of old were made of black cloth, loose and long as the gown, gathered and hooked at the neck, over that was another cloak shorter of the same material called a cape, which they turned up on the head showing off the pretty white frilled cap they used to wear. Those cloaks were costly but would last for a long time.
Gone are the heads of the silvery hair.
