  1. Many years ago a smith used to make charcoal out of turf, he used to get a big load of turf and set fire to it when it was reddened he threw earth and bogmould on it until it was quenched then it was used in the forge instead of coal.

  2. A Story of a Leprechán
One day as a man by the name of McMahon was trudging home through the fields he saw lying just on his path a gold key. Just as he was picking up the key he heard a raucas laugh but when he looked around he saw nothing and was again putting down his hand for the key when he heard the same laugh. This time however he perceived sitting on the ditch a Leprechán. The man started talking to him but at the same time he was edging nearer. The Leprechán saw this however and suddenly he dissappeared out of the mans sight altogether.
This story was told to me by my mother.
