    You catholics both young and old, I hope you will attend.
    Excuse my feeble study while those feeling lines I pen,
    Concerning this Lord Leitrim may vengeance on him frown,
    He seized upon our holy Church near hand to Mohill town.
    'Twas on the 26th of June, 'twas an awful day.
    Both House and foot assembled there our rights to take away,
    To take possession of our church also he did not fare.
    II
    It leaves our parish homes in grief their
    tears they can't conseal,
    The army stood both rank and file to
    keep the mob away.
    The sheriff came to our priest, and asked
    him for the key,
    He said "this Holy Temple we never will
    for this shall be the House of God until
    the end of time".
