    years ago but one father handed them down to his son and thus we have some of these very interesting occurrences which we love to hear and write. The most famous of these was - The Great Wind.
    Houses were knocked down, trees were rooted and no one was safe to go outside his own door, lest the wind might bring him away. Any ricks of un-threshed oates were blown away, across river and valley and left hanging on bushes. Mice were also seen hanging on thorns of large trees.
