In the Townland of Kiltybarden in the Parish of Ballinamore grew a tree which was always referred to as the Cramp rod.
When a pig suffered from Cramps a rod was taken from the tree and the pig was struck with this rod.
Others say the rod was made into a gad and put around the pigs leg.
About 30 years ago I was sent for a rod from the tree. I brought the rod but how it was used I do not know. The tree grew on land belonging to a man named Blessing or Mulvanerty.
