Paddy O'Leary who liveed in Shebeg was a Fenian of the olden times.

Paddy O'Leary who lived in Shebeg was a Fenian of the olden times. He did many brave deeds. He carried a gun with him. Himself and his comrades were very often pursued by soldier's. Many searches were made for his gun and fighting weapons which were not found until the day of his death he told his friend of his hiding place. It was in the pier of a gate. He was buried in a rath in Shanraw.
There is a big flag stone at Charlie Carrol's house in the townland of Annaghkeenty which was thrown by Fionn Mac Cumhail from Shemore and it dropped on the top of Annakeenty hill. No man was able to lift it and it was broken in halves and one half was taken away but the other half is still to be seen.
