  1. There is always a good judge of the weather in every village. There is a man in my village and he is a very good judge. His name is Myles Feerick. He lives a few hundred yards from my house. Here are some of the signs he gives.
    1, When the sky is very dark it is the sign of rain
    2, When there is a red sunset it is the sign of fine weather.
    3, When there is a rainbow in the morning it is the sign of rain.
    4, A ring around the moon is the sign of stormy weather.
    5, A lot of stars in the sky is the sign of frost
    6, A waterfall making a lot of noise is the sign of frost also.
    7, Blue lights in the fire is the sign of rain.
    8, Soot falling from the chimney is the sign of rain also.
    9, If there is enough of blue in the sky to make a sailor's jacket it is the sign of fine weather
    10, If the smoke is coming out straight from the chimney it is the sign of fine weather.
