  1. This fort is situated mid-way between the 'monument' of Lixnaw and the Convent. It is in a field which was formerly owned by the Behans but which is now the property of the Nuns. It is called an "Lios Lár" because to the north of it lies the fort in Conway's field (already referred to) known as "Lios Uachtar" while to the south of it lies another lios or fort in O Connell's land known as "An Lios Íochtar". The Lios Lár is the smallest and most insignificant of the three. Like the others it is circular in shape and is surrounded by an earthen ditch which is broken down and has almost disappeared in several places. Growing on the ditch are white and blackthorn
