    Roinn Roinn Tvuít
    The parish of Kilcarha (Lixnaw) is situated in the north of the Co. Kerry and Barony of Clanmaurice and is bounded on the North and South by the parish of Kiltomey on the East by that of Dysart and on the West by that of Killahaw.
    The name in the original language is Cill Chárthaigh meaning the Church of St. Charthach, the original parish church having been either built by, or dedicated to St. Carthach of Lismore, but his memory is not celebrated here at present. Of the old church of this parish nothing remains but parts of the walls; they are ten feet high and two ft. seven inches thick and built of lime stones and lime and sand
