- In my father's land in the middle of a green grassy field there is a round moate of stones. The stones are built in a round shape and on the top there are a few large slabs of stones. It is facing the East and the old people believe that it was there some great pagan king was buried long ago standing up. It is on the side of a hill this moate is built and inscriptions of this kind are on some stones "........". There are places in the hollow just like the graves of some who died at the Battle of Athenry in 1315.
