  1. It is believed that it is unlucky to work on Whit Sunday or Whit Monday. It is said that it is unlucky to go on a long journey on either of these days, as accidents occur and some people never travel on either of these two days.
    There is a superstition connected with May Day it is beleived that if milk is given out on that day the one who gets it could take the butter from the cows. There was a woman one time who used to milk another man's cows on May morning. Every time during the year that she would make her churning the churn used be filled with butter. The man heard of what she was doing and when the next May morning came, he went out where his cows were. The woman was there and he heard her say. do bhó in mo bhó. Then the man said "do bhó in mo bhó agus cac bó in do bhó, and he made the sign of the cross on
