  1. Once upon a time there lived a man by the name of Shanahan and there was a forge in his land. In this forge all the spades for the Spring time used be made. One day Shanahan and his sons were out in the fields working and when they came in to their dinner one boy whose name was Tom never ate his dinner because he was sick. All the men ate and went out working but Tom went to bed and stayed there. Next day he was not better or the day after. He was sick for two years and he was dying every day.
