- The following superstitious customs connected with death are still practised in this district.
After the death of the person the windows are opened and the clocks stopped.
The razor which is used in shaving the dead is never used again by anybody except by the person who shaves the dead man.
The basin in which the person has been washed is never taken into the house again.
After the funeral the matress on which the dead man died is thrown out into the garden and a ditch made round it.
The corrin is taken into the house head foremost. The lid is removed and left standing outside against a sidewall.
When the coffin is removed from the house to the Church the chairs are turned upside down in the house.
